Voyis designs and builds underwater laser scanners and optical imaging payloads for subsea vehicles and survey teams, with the aim of expanding underwater capability and improving understanding of remote, challenging environments. The company makes its equipment in Canada and runs operations from Waterloo, Ontario. The catalogue covers five hardware families plus supporting software. Underwater laser scanners come as high-resolution instruments for dynamic or static inspections, in short-range and long-range options, under the Insight name: Insight Nano, Insight Micro and Insight Pro. Imaging systems fall under Observer, high-powered systems that deliver real-time data enhancement to enable automation, comprising Observer Survey Series Micro, Observer Survey Series Pro and Observer Vision Series. Stereo cameras carry the Discovery name, covering the Discovery Inspection Series and Discovery Perception Series, which support everything from live piloting and vehicle awareness through to accurate three-dimensional models, so that vehicles can see, understand and measure the underwater world in real time. For autonomous underwater vehicles the company supplies the Recon and Recon LS payloads, complete, power-efficient packages that extend a platform's capabilities. It builds configurable ROV skids in Small ROV Skids and XL ROV Skids variants, suited to particular sensor and survey needs on both work class and inspection class remotely operated vehicles. Processing software rounds out the range, giving fine control of optical systems and efficient data processing workflows. Customers span five sectors. In offshore energy the aim centres on enabling autonomy in offshore inspection to save time and money; in ocean science, on exploring and observing the underwater world without disturbing it; in defence, on expanding underwater capability and reducing risk through optical identification; in civil infrastructure, on informing decisions about assets and monitoring their condition over time; aquaculture completes the group. Published case studies cover marine habitat inspections at Empire Heritage and Hempton for Ulster University, and scour analysis and sediment transport work for Genex. Voyis now belongs to Kraken Robotics, forming a marine technology company focused on transforming subsea intelligence, alongside Kraken Robotics, EIVA, Forcys and Sonardyne.
