2H Offshore Engineering is an independent engineering consultancy that delivers advanced systems engineering to the offshore energy sectors, combining domain knowledge in marine structure dynamics with technology to support difficult engineering projects. The business is organised around three sectors. In oil and gas it engineers subsea structures including riser systems, platforms, subsea systems and pipelines: drilling, completion and workover risers alongside production and export risers; minimum facility platforms, monopile wellhead platforms and early production systems; jumpers, umbilicals, conductors and wells; and onshore and coastal pipelines and flowlines. In renewables it supports clients at every stage of an offshore project from concept to life extension, covering fixed wind foundations, pre-piling and drilling templates, floating foundations and moorings, anchors and high voltage cables. Its decarbonisation work applies the same system design methods to water cooling systems, carbon capture and hydrogen. Across those sectors the firm groups its work into a set of capabilities. Geoconsulting covers geoengineering and site characterisation delivered by geotechnical engineers. System design and engineering spans concept engineering, structural engineering, system verification and CVA, and advanced stress analysis. Hardware design, fabrication and delivery includes custom hardware solutions, package engineering, subsea system delivery management, supply chain services, systems qualification and testing, and independent transportation and installation support for offshore platforms and for fixed and floating wind systems. Integrity services aim to simplify asset operations and maintenance, minimise the risk of failure and prolong asset life, and take in integrity planning, inspections and assessments, crisis engineering, fitness for service, monitoring system engineering and digital twin work, supported by the iCUE asset lifecycle intelligence platform. A decommissioning and life extension practice covers well plug and abandonment, facility decommissioning, riser and subsea decommissioning, and life extension. Riser engineering is the company's declared core strength: it calculates and interprets riser response, independently assesses and simulates multiple scenarios, and factors in materials, fabrication, delivery and installation. It points to riser technologies it helped develop that remain in use, among them the STRIDE SCR JIP, the AMJIG drilling riser guidelines and the free-standing riser concept, and it leads the STREAM and Wellhead Fatigue joint industry projects with groups of operators to refine fatigue assessment. An engineering feedback loop uses real monitoring data and operational experience to iterate design practice. Work is delivered from offices in Aberdeen, Beijing, Edinburgh, Houston, Kuala Lumpur, London, Melbourne, Mumbai, Paris, Perth and Rio de Janeiro, set up so clients can draw on the whole talent pool regardless of location.
