Coda Octopus Group
Subsea imaging and diving technology group whose subsidiary Precision Acoustics provides ISO/IEC 17025-accredited ultrasonic hydrophone calibration services.
Coda Octopus Group organizes itself around two main business areas: underwater technology solutions and engineering services. Its products business designs and manufactures combined hardware and software systems for the underwater market, with a focus on real-time imaging sonar, diving technology, and diving communications technology. The company holds a market-leading position in underwater imaging sonar and supplies the world only 4D, 5D and 6D sonar capability, used to image moving objects underwater in zero-visibility conditions. It develops diving systems such as DAVD, an integrated management diving system that brings sensor, media, and sonar data to the diver through a head-up display and, in tethered form, lets the diver and dive supervisor visualize the same underwater scene in real time. The products business serves markets such as underwater construction, offshore oil and gas, wind energy, port security, mining, marine sciences, and related subsea applications, with use in complex dredging and in inspection and construction environments. The group runs engineering businesses in the US and the UK that provide rugged engineering solutions primarily to prime defense contractors. Those businesses work on defense, aerospace, and mining applications and typically handle concept, design, prototype, production, and post-production support. They supply proprietary sub-assemblies for mission-critical defense programs and hold long-standing relationships on defense programs of record, some of them in place for decades. Coda Octopus Group includes Precision Acoustics, which supplies equipment and services for the MHz ultrasound market worldwide. That business provides acoustic measurement products for all industries, with a concentration on medical and non-destructive testing markets, and it works with research and academic institutions to support ultrasound research and development. Taken together, the company combines subsea imaging and diving technologies, defense-oriented engineering services, and ultrasound measurement products across distinct but related industrial and scientific markets.
