Its core business supports the placement, protection, recovery, and operation of instruments and equipment in the ocean, with products used from the ocean surface to depths exceeding 6,000 meters. The company serves oceanographic, offshore oil and gas, energy, technology, seismic, survey, military, government, ROV and AUV, mining, and cable-laying markets, with particular attention to ADCP deployment and offshore wind cable applications. Its product range centers on syntactic foam-based buoyancy and submergence systems. DeepWater Buoyancy supplies buoys, bottom mounts, mooring hardware, cable floats, instrument carriers, and recovery systems, including products designed for ADCPs, current meters, wave profilers, and other subsea instruments. It offers solutions for floating offshore wind cables, subsea pipelines, umbilicals, jumpers, and platform-to-seafloor arrangements, where buoyancy reduces loads, controls buckling, improves stability, or helps manage deployment geometry. Many products handle harsh conditions, long-term submergence, rough handling, trawl resistance, or very deep water, with depth ratings reaching 6,000 meters in several cases. A distinctive part of the business comes from customization: more than half of what the company makes either counts as fully custom or gets tailored from a standard design. DeepWater Buoyancy keeps in-house engineering, design, metal fabrication, and custom solutions for projects where catalog items do not fit. Its materials and construction methods include DeepTec syntactic foam, polyurethane elastomers, stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, rotomolded shells, and other specialized components chosen for durability and performance. The company produces and supports legacy Flotation Technologies products, including the Flotec product line, and provides design and application assistance as well as stocked parts for those legacy items. It offers deployment products co-designed for Nortek and Teledyne partner instruments.
