EIVA

EIVA is an engineering company with more than 45 years' experience in the offshore and shallow water construction and survey industries. Working from Skanderborg in Denmark, it provides software, equipment, integrated system solutions, rental services, support and training to a wide range of customer segments, covering virtually any subsea task. The company is now part of Kraken Robotics, a combination it describes as creating a marine technology company focused on transforming subsea intelligence.

The software side of the business centres on NaviSuite, a complete multipurpose suite of products for virtually any sonar and sensor survey or engineering operation carried out by offshore and shallow water professionals. Acquisition is handled by NaviPac Pro, NaviSuite Kuda Pro and NaviSuite Kuda Core, alongside Voyis VSLAM Powered by EIVA NaviSuite. Processing runs through NaviModel Producer, NaviModel Analyser and NaviEdit Pro, with a free NaviModel Viewer available. Dedicated bundles cover autonomous ROV inspections, pipeline and cable route inspections, hydrographic surveys and anchor handling operations, with NaviSuite Nardoa aimed at pipe inspections. Options extend the core with Workflow Manager - Server, NaviSuite Cloud Viewer and a 3D pipe option for NaviModel Producer. NaviSuite ROV Autonomy, a recent addition, brings supervised autonomy to an existing ROV inspection workflow so that repeatable tasks are executed more consistently while the pilot stays firmly in command, and NaviModel now integrates with Absolute Ocean to share seabed data securely across locations and organisations.

On the hardware side EIVA builds remotely operated towed vehicle solutions tailored to the subsea survey task at hand, including ViperFish, ScanFish Katria, ScanFish 3D steering and ScanFish XL. It also makes the OceanEnviro range of electrical winches in six sizes for deploying oceanographic and hydrographic equipment, ToughBoy data collection buoys built for long-term operational independence and offered with or without a fitted ADCP, and ATTU time-tagging units with up to 24 ports and better than 50 microsecond accuracy, plus a NaviSuite seismic trigger. Units from the rental pool are also sold on as second-hand equipment.

The application areas EIVA addresses include cable, pipe and asset inspections, ROV autonomy, UXO surveys, AUV onboard acquisition, processing and perception, hydrographic surveys from uncrewed surface vessels and vessels, cable route planning and lay simulation, jack-up positioning, tow, mooring and riser handling, oceanography and environmental studies, virtual marker buoys for waterway navigation, and data buoys for long-term monitoring. Commercially the company sells and rents, offers free startup and academic licences, a NaviSuite trade-in scheme and a Kuda trial, and runs EIVA eLearning modules alongside instructor-led software training courses and hardware operator courses. Its helpdesk supports software customers with an active support agreement around the clock.
