Falmouth Scientific, Inc. designs and builds marine technology, and describes its portfolio as resting on three primary pillars: sensors, seismic systems and custom transducers. The sensor line covers current, wave and tide measurement. The ACM-PLUS family provides two-dimensional and three-dimensional single point current measurements with low power draw and long life for moored systems, and variants extend to wave height and statistics through ACM-WAVE-PLUS and to combined measurement through WAVE-TIDE-PLUS and ACM-PLUS-MP. These instruments support additional sensors such as turbidity and dissolved oxygen, and are applied to work including oil spill recovery operations. Tide monitoring systems are offered as turn-key end-to-end solutions with flexible buoy or fix-mounted installation, data transmission over standard digital cellular plans, and solar power for long-term unattended deployment.
The systems line covers acoustic bottom profilers, combined and deep tow platforms. AquaPulse, formerly known as the Bubble Gun family, uses low-frequency acoustic signals to provide signal penetration through coarse sand, gravel tills and other difficult-to-penetrate sediments, and is offered in the HMS-620 series including the HMS-620LF low frequency variant and the HMS-CHS cable head source. Chirp sub-bottom profiling is served by the compact HMS-621 and by the HMS-622 CHIRPceiver, hull mounted and ULF systems, which offer dual frequency operation, individually controlled transmit pulse widths and an Ethernet interface for data and control. The HMS-BPA-62X Pipeliner arrays are configured for accurate positioning of buried pipe and can be run with a receive hydrophone in shallow water or in transmit and receive mode in deeper water. Side scan and combined survey work uses the HMS-624 side scan systems, the HMS-6x5 combined sidescan and sub-bottom platform, which pairs Klein powered side scan with FSI sub-bottom data, and the HMS-665 deep tow system for high resolution imagery in depths of up to 3,000m. All systems are stated to be compatible with industry standard data acquisition and processing software. Location devices include the Flasher-Pinger and a stand-alone flasher.
Transducers are available across multiple bandwidths, from 10Hz to 2kHz communication and sub-bottom bands through 1-10kHz, 8-25kHz and 50kHz profiling to 100kHz and 400kHz side scan, alongside acoustic modems, transponders, pingers, wide band projectors and named units such as the AT650, HMS-ATTR-4.5K, HMS-ATTR-15K and HMS-VLF. Custom designs are offered in different materials, shapes and sizes, including single crystal, PZT 4 and PZT 8, and in Tonpilz, LCAT, VLF, Bender, Flextensional, Trioid, Power Wheel, CMX and spherical geometries.
Services run alongside the catalogue: electrical, mechanical and system design, specialised prototyping, manufacturing and calibration, advanced assembly, potting and encapsulation, cable and sub-assembly work, system integration and field support. In-house facilities include a 10,000 psi pressure test tank, a 12-ft acoustic test tank and environmental test chambers, with open water test locations close by.
