GeoAcoustics Ltd builds hydroacoustic technology for marine survey and underwater inspection from Shuttleworth Close on the Gapton Hall Industrial Estate in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, in the United Kingdom. It sums itself up as excellence in subsea sound, building instruments for the efficient collection of accurate underwater data and selling to commercial, government and scientific users, with the stated aim of improving the quality and speed of marine data acquisition while lowering survey costs. It is optimised for small survey vessels, vessels of opportunity and USVs, combining low power consumption with a robust mechanical design. Sub-bottom profilers run from workhorse pingers to advanced digital profilers and include GeoPulse 2, GeoPulse Compact OTS and the newer GeoPulse LF 101. The LF 101 is a low voltage boomer for marine seismic survey with an underwater capacitor and an energy source output below 1000 V, against up to 4000 V for conventional systems. Its 11 kg energy source, 2 kVA mains input and light cable support quick mobilisation and demobilisation on small vessels, and it is a 100 or 50 Joules system producing up to 6 pulses per second, with a 200 Joules variant in development and expected during Q2 2026. Side scan is covered by dual frequency towfish systems, the GeoScan 2361 and GeoScan 2491, and Topas is also listed among the products. The OTS Mount is an over the side mounting system that has been in use for over 20 years, giving a stable platform for side scan, bathymetric or sub-bottom equipment on practically any vessel. It is listed as safe for instruments including GeoSwath 4, GeoPulse Compact, the Kongsberg EM240P and Kongsberg TOPAS P120, can be modified for almost any third-party sensor with a custom adapter, and accepts GNSS position and heading sensors on the pole, with mounting bracket options for Hemisphere, Applanix and Kongsberg units. The company also offers standard and customised cable moulding for OEMs, integrators and marine contractors.
