RBR designs and manufactures oceanographic instruments in Ottawa, Canada. Its instruments are built on a modular platform that permits rapid custom configuration, and its sensors track water parameters including temperature, depth, salinity, dissolved gases and pH, in deployments described as running from the ocean abyss to the polar ice cap. The catalogue divides into three instrument families plus supporting hardware and software. The realtime sensor range covers the RBR coda, RBR coda 3, RBR tridente and RBR quadrante. Individual variants include the RBR coda ODO for optical dissolved oxygen, the RBR coda OpH for optical pH, the RBR coda Tu for turbidity and optical backscatter, a chlorophyll-a version, the RBR coda 3 T, RBR coda 3 D and RBR coda 3 T.D for temperature and pressure, and the RBR coda PAR, rad for photosynthetically active radiation and narrow-band radiometry. These use RS-232 output and an MCBH-6-MP connector and are rated to depths of 6000m, with named applications including borehole monitoring, remotely operated underwater vehicles, stream gauging and harbour water levels. Compact loggers are led by the RBR solo 4 and RBR duet 4, single- and dual-channel instruments with USB-C download, any AA battery, flexible measurement schedules and, on some generation 4 models, exchangeable sensors. Variants include the RBR solo 4 T, RBR solo 4 D and RBR duet 4 T.D, deepwater versions with options to 10000m, tide and wave configurations, and the RBR solo 3 PAR and RBR solo 3 rad radiometers. Standard loggers integrate one to ten channels and can carry third-party sensors from manufacturers such as Aanderaa, Seapoint, LI-COR, AMT, JFE Alec, OxyGuard and BioSpherical. The RBR virtuoso 3, RBR duo 3 and RBR duraturo 4 handle one or two parameters; the RBR brevio 3 is strictly a CTD; the RBR duo 3 and RBR concerto 3 add salinity in C.T and C.T.D configurations; and the RBR maestro 3 carries five to ten channels. The RBR quartz 3 line, including the Q tide and wave recorder and the APT, BPR and BPR zero bottom pressure recorders, is built for quartz stability and low drift. Typical uses named are acoustic surveys, coastal and deep ocean studies, tide and wave monitoring, tsunami warning systems, hydrography, water quality and profiling. Beyond loggers and sensors, RBR makes CTDs designed for Argo floats and for gliders and AUVs, and supplies systems, cables, mooring clamps, sensor mounting clamps, accessories, OEM configurations, calibration, and the Ruskin software with its mobile apps.
