RTSYS

Designs autonomous underwater vehicles, acoustic systems, and marine robotics for defense, research, and industrial surveys.

//Overview

RTsys Underwater Technologies designs and manufactures solutions for underwater acoustics and autonomous vehicles, serving civil, scientific, and defence applications. Its business organizes around four main areas: passive acoustic monitoring, autonomous underwater vehicles, mine countermeasures, and anti-submarine warfare. Across those areas it develops products for monitoring, detection, training, survey, and operational use in marine environments. In passive acoustic monitoring, RTsys provides solutions ranging from post-processing recorders to real-time monitoring buoys and multiparameter stations. Marine biologists and PAM operators use those tools, and the same technology finds maritime industry applications where underwater acoustics help assess ship noise or detect defects and mechanical failures on vessels in operation. In autonomous underwater vehicles, the company offers AUVs for navies and research institutes, with payload options such as DVLs, magnetometers, side-scan sonars, sensors, and probes adapted to customer needs. Those vehicles suit long autonomous surveys and ocean monitoring. For defence, RTsys supplies anti-submarine warfare systems including recoverable targets for sonar training, torpedo exercises, signature analysis, and portable towed systems for rapid sonar calibration and performance testing. Its mine countermeasures activity covers an ecosystem of AUVs, handheld navigation sonar for divers, an acoustic firing device, and equipment for mine and UXO clearance missions, as well as search and rescue in shallow, cloudy waters. Navies use those capabilities to recreate complete operational environments and improve both navigation and detection. The company addresses broader marine markets beyond defence. In inshore construction, it provides the SYSENSE seabed station for multiparameter monitoring and remote display of acoustics, salinity, water depth, and turbidity. In marine renewable energies, it supports risk assessment, UXO detection, ambient noise monitoring, marine mammal detection campaigns, and real-time noise mitigation using RT-Live Monitor software paired with a buoy. RTsys therefore combines underwater acoustics, robotics, monitoring, and mission-specific systems for naval, scientific, industrial, and marine environmental uses. Acoustics runs through every one of those four areas, from marine mammal detection through ship noise assessment to sonar calibration.
