Subsea Pressure Controls Ltd, referred to as SPC, is a UK company specialising in the manufacture, sales, repair and refurbishment of drilling and well control equipment, including the rental of pressure control equipment, and it supplies similar services such as pressure testing to the renewable and marine industries. It describes itself as a solution provider for the energy sector and for renewable and marine industries worldwide, with the capability and resources to undertake challenging projects globally. Its scope covers the manufacture, service, repair, rental and procurement of drilling and well control equipment for oil and gas, plus maintenance, repair and pressure test services for marine and renewable work where applicable. Manufacturing is a bespoke design and fabrication service in which the design team produces equipment to client specifications or to industry standard requirements. Equipment is built to API standards, independently verified by an appropriate third party before the client takes ownership, and supplied with a full documentation package. Listed products include accumulator control units, capital drilling and pressure control equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic control panels, pressure control equipment, complete BOP stacks and pipe manifolds in choke, kill and stand configurations. The company also built an LP Universal Retrieval Clamp used in a North Sea decommissioning campaign for the removal of several subsea xmas trees, whose design incorporated a default Cameron profile with inserts that could be swapped to a Sea King LPWHH profile. On the service side SPC takes the position that refurbishment comes before replacement, providing an on-site equipment survey to evaluate the work scope and quote accurately. It offers maintenance of pressure control equipment, five yearly drilling equipment overhauls and recertification projects, and inspection, maintenance and preservation services, with short-term equipment lease available under a service agreement to reduce client downtime. Specialist testing covers hydraulic bolting and torque services using manual torque multipliers, pneumatic torque wrenches, hydraulic torque wrenches and interconnectable bolt tensioning tools supplied with calibration certificates and torque charts; hydro pressure testing up to 22.5K PSI with optional live data streaming, applied to tanks, vessels, spool pieces and manifolds; and hose manufacture, inspection, repair and replacement for hydraulic hoses from a quarter inch up to four inch diameter. In the UK it also runs a modular Mobile Workshop and High-Pressure Testing Unit for in-situ work, and it holds ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 accreditation.
